• Location: to track running routes and distance during active sessions
• Health & Fitness: to monitor and sync running activity data
• Notifications: to send you achievement alerts, milestone reminders, and encouragement

2. Data Usage and Protection

Your running and activity information is:

• Analysed to provide running insights and progress tracking
• Used to calculate XP, levels, and achievements
• Used to power leaderboards and shared goals with friends
• Stored securely using industry-standard encryption
• Not sold to third parties

3. Data Collection and Usage

3.1 Data Linked to Your Identity

The following data is collected and linked to your account:

• Account information (name, email, profile details)
• Running activity data (distance, pace, duration, routes)
• In-app progress (XP, level, achievements, hamster customisation)
• Social data (leaderboard rankings, shared goals, friend connections)

3.2 Data Not Linked to Your Identity

The following data may be collected but is not linked to your identity:

• Usage data
• Product interaction: how you interact with app features and functionality
• Anonymous analytics data for app improvement

Product interaction data is collected and used solely for:

• App functionality (authenticating users, enabling features, preventing fraud, implementing security measures)
• Ensuring server up-time and app performance
• Minimising app crashes
• Improving scalability and performance
• Providing customer support
• Understanding how features are used to improve the app

3.3 Third-Party Services

Run Hammy Run uses the following third-party services:

Firebase:

• Provides authentication and secure data storage
• Stores account and activity data
• Used for real-time leaderboard and social features

Strava (optional integration):

• Syncs running activity data when connected
• Subject to Strava's own privacy policy and terms
• Connection can be revoked at any time

Analytics:

• Collects anonymous usage data to understand how features are used
• Helps identify and fix bugs or performance issues
• Data is aggregated and anonymised
• Used solely for app improvement purposes

All third-party data collection is:

• Used only for app functionality and improvements
• Not used for advertising or marketing
• Not sold or shared with other parties

4. Location Data

The App may access your device's location services to track running routes. Location tracking only occurs during active run sessions and can be disabled in your device settings. We do not track your location outside of active run sessions.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Control app permissions through device settings
• Disconnect third-party integrations at any time
• Export your data in a portable format

6. Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days. Local app data is removed when you uninstall the App.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the information promptly.

8. Changes to Privacy Policy

We will notify users of any material changes to this privacy policy through the App or via email.
